Unlike with code, scripts in life can be boring and confining. Laurel hasn’t been bored a day in her life, nor has she been confined by “norms”. The definition of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), Laurel takes a practical approach to business. She’s taken many left turns and a few about-faces, all of which ultimately led her to found Status Forward. Along the way, she’s learned that a talented and passionate team can inspire and inform good leadership, so she’s surrounded herself with terrific team members. Staying ahead in the ever changing world of technology, and cultivating trusting partnerships with our clients are her greatest goals and her biggest rewards.
Laurel lived a nomadic life before finding Asheville. She attended seven schools from K-12 before heading off to the Air Force Academy, where she studied engineering, computer science, and life. In the eight years after graduation, she explored 20+ countries, before changing paths and “settling down” in Asheville in 2002. Laurel’s favorite things in life are her wife and dogs, great friends, most any outdoor sport, new places, and good brews. She’s always planning the next great adventure.
