WordPress UpdatesWe’ll keep up with all core software, plugin, and theme updates. We’ll also apply security patches to ensure your site is not at risk from any known vulnerabilities. If something breaks as a result of an update, we’ll fix it right away.
Site BackupsBackups are the most important thing you can do to ensure data integrity. We’ll back up your website every night and store backups in a geographically separate location from your site for safekeeping.

Why does my website need to be updated?
We build and maintain websites built on WordPress, which is an actively developed and evolving software platform. As such, it needs to be updated to patch security vulnerabilities, fix bugs, and maintain functionality.
Your website needs routine care just like your computer, which you must keep updated to protect yourself and to gain new features, while ensuring you are not knowingly subject to hackers, malware, or other intrusions.
With our Website Care Plans, you can rest easy because we test, install, and troubleshoot all updates that become available for your website.
What does a website care plan cost?
While we can customize any plan to meet your specific needs, our Website Care Plans begin at $150/month (or $250/month for e-commerce sites).
What kind of updates are installed?
We install updates to the core WordPress software, as well as the plugins and themes that are being used for your specific site.
Before we initiate these updates, we do a site backup. After updating, we review and test your website to ensure things are still running smoothly with your website. If anything breaks, we troubleshoot it to minimize any downtime or user issues that could cause you to lose business.
How often do you backup my website?
All of our Website Care Plans include daily backups to a geographically separate location from where your primary site is served. If your site needs to be restored, we’ll take care of it for you.
How often do you run malware scans?
Our software is constantly monitoring your website for malware and other malicious threats, so there is no need for additional scheduled scans. Our care plans include a constant, ongoing malware detection system, and we’ll be notified when something needs to be addressed.
Do you remove malware from my website when detected?
The short answer is yes. If your website is compromised to no fault of your own, and a hacker, malware, or other intruder gets past all of our security protections, we’ll take care of restoring your site.
Note: You may incur a hack recovery fee if a website breach was due to a security vulnerability out of our control, such as low strength passwords used for user accounts or website administrators logging in on public networks.
How often do you check if my site is up?
Our uptime monitor checks your website every few minutes. If it is down, we’ll be notified immediately and create a priority support ticket. That said, the uptime rate for our hosting servers is 99.99%, which means downtime is a very rare event.
How often can I contact support?
The goal of our Website Care Plans is to take the day-to-day technical management of your site off your hands, so there shouldn’t be much need to contact us on that front. Our plans include various support time allowances for you in case you want help with content management, optimization, or design help on a regular basis. You are welcome to contact us as often as you like via our support system.
What is a Website Care Report?
Every month, we send a report that contains information about your website traffic, the updates we’ve installed, security data, and more. Our Status Update and Status Forward plans also include more in-depth analytics reports on who is visiting your site, what is working well, and where you are losing visitors, all of which will help you strategize new content and optimize existing content.
Can I sign up for a Website Care Plan if Status Forward did not build my website?
That depends. While our plans are designed for sites we build (we know how we built them and what it will take to maintain them), we do sometimes offer care plans on existing sites if they meet certain criteria. We offer a $500 site audit ($1000 for e-commerce) to determine if we can offer a care plan on a site you had built elsewhere. In some cases, we can sign up clients for care plans with no changes, while in other cases, some site changes will be required first to ensure stability and sustainability. Unfortunately, we do see sites that are just too outdated and unstable for us to take on, and in those cases, we’re happy to discuss a full website redesign.
Can I change to a different plan after I sign up?
Yes. You may contact us at any time, and we can adjust your plan. You will be prorated for the new plan during the first month of your adjusted billing schedule.
