Founded in 1988, NC WARN is a Durham-based nonprofit focused on building people power for energy and climate justice. With its 30th anniversary fast approaching, NC WARN collaborated with Status Forward to create a new brand identity and website.
The new brand represents an effort to reach out to younger audiences — folks who will undoubtedly live through the challenges climate change poses to North Carolina’s future.
Brand Typography
Rooted in activism, the NC WARN website takes a slightly different approach than other nonprofit websites. While encouraging donations, the site also devotes significant energy toward sharing opportunities for supporters to take action.
NC WARN’s color palette and newfound typographic boldness convey a sense of urgency while maintaining that climate change is a problem we can prepare for and possibly help reverse if we put our minds to it.
